Thank you to all the parents who signed and returned the Zoo field trip forms promptly. Kindergarten classes will be visiting the Calgary Zoo on Friday, May 8, 2015. If you haven't already, please sign and return the 'Acknowledgment of Risk' form by Monday, May 4th, 2015.

Today we reviewed our shapes by reading, 

We looked for shapes around us and did an activity.... Ask me

Ask me to tell you the names of the shapes...

                                               We cut, labelled and coloured the shapes..

                        Ask me to play a shape game... look for these shapes around me

We read, Ask me about this book..

 What sound does /ch/ make? Ask me to point to it

What sound does /sh/ make? Ask me to point to it 

In gym..

                                             Ask me how I was safe....

What rules did I follow...

Coming too close.... Ask me what do they need to do...

We read, 

 Ask me how I put the numbers in order..

                                         Ask me who is the oldest .... who is the youngest

                                                   How do I know... explain your thinking

                                     Point to the children from the youngest to the oldest

                                                       Ask me how do I know?

We went outside to do some learning in our new garden area......      Ask me..

                                                  Ask me to count in two's..

         Using our 5 senses... feeling the mulch...   Ask me about the ending sound /ch/

                         Students came up with, " It's wet"  " moist"    "hard"   "prickly"
                                                 Ask me what did I felt....

                                                         Is there a pattern....

                                                  Ask me to count the tulips by two's

                             Ask me  what I felt when I touched the branches of this tree

                                                   rough, prickly, sharp....

The rock felt smooth...

We read,

     and reviewed the signs that we see around us...

Ask me to tell you what these signs mean..

working together and learning about signs..

We found a beetle in the gym...

                                     Look at the colors  and the body parts.....  

                                              Ask me what we did with it...
