This year, our Kindergarten classes have been chosen to be a part of the  LIttle Green Thumbs program which is run through the Calgary Zoo with generous corporate support. Over the course of the year we will be planting seeds, transplanting seedlings and growing various vegetables in a classroom garden.

Today we have started with the first step of setting up our compost bin with about a thousand red wiggler worms. Please ask your child to explain what they have learned?

Ask me why are earthworms helpful for growing plants in a garden?

Why do we need to make holes in the top and bottom of the bin?

Thank you, Mr. Beattie, Ms. Toor & Mrs. Queen for letting Room 8 join your class...

What foods will we feed the worms?

We read the book,

Please read this chart and explain some of the important facts that you learned about earthworms.

curiosity is the key....... ask me what did I feel when I touched the worms...

Hope you all saw our wonderful 'Egg Experiment"using our 5 senses. Today we drew an egg and labeled it...

Ask me about my drawing and printing....

We read the book,
