Discovery Tables...

Observing our garden was fascinating.... we found so many different shapes and sizes..

Ask me to describe the leaves and count them..

 How many peat pellets? 

Raiyan noticed that the small basil leaves are like a turtle's shell curved and bumpy..

Elliana said, " The big leaves are flat."

Our salad mix is growing big leaves..

Ask me to point to a small leaf and show you the biggest leaf..

                         Amira said, " The leaves on this basil plant look like 2 butterflies."

We discussed how we planted our bean seeds and completed our writing

                       Haneen found the word sprout

He knew the beginning sound was 's' it had a 'p' sound and it ended with a 't'

For understanding we read the books,

draw the pictures..

           Ask me what she did?     We are all different. The big animals thought they could get  

                                                 the Billy Goat to go out...

We discussed we all have our strengths and weaknesses whether big or small

Ask me who was able to help get the goat out? and how?

We might not be able to do everything now but we'll get bigger and things will get easier!

We did an experiment observing garlic...

                                          Ask me what is happening to the garlic....

                    We also felt the garlic... Our observations... " It has lines."  " The skin is thin and crinkly." " It looks like a small onion." "It's smooth." " It feels hard."

              We observed it with a magnifying glass....    Gabby said, " It's sprouting"

We talked about plants that grow from a seed and some grow from a bulb

Ask me how does a garlic grow.... we are going to plant this in our garden

We read  a few pages from the book,

 Ask me tell you the pattern on the stem...

         What is 1 less than 10.   Count the butterflies with and ask me about
the pattern on their wings. The wings are..... symmetrical.... what does that mean?




Notice from The School Council was sent home. They have a Casino to help raise funds for programs and supply equipment for our students at Vista Heights. School Council does not have enough parent volunteers and would like parents to join them this Friday and Saturday at Deerfoot
