Ask me about our surprise that was waiting for us in both the Kindergarten classes!
Painted Lady Butterfly caterpillars
How did I feel when I held the caterpillars...
The Kindergarten students couldn't believe what they were going to nurture
for the next few weeks... experience the process of the life cycle of a butterfly
with us...
Ask me how many caterpillars do we have
We counted and there were.....
Ask me what is the white stuff in the box..
We observed our caterpillars through out the day
I thought this was the most adorable way to observe and investigate..
We observed and documented....
-they all were different
- some were fat and some were thin
-rough "pokey" texture
-spiky
-hairy
-some were already molting...
Ask me to explain... what is molting?
WE WONDER WHAT WE WILL SEE IN THE CONTAINER TOMORROW!
ASK ME TO PREDICT....
Ask me to look at the pattern of the Monarch butterfly and the Painted Lady butterfly
point out the differences...
Ask me what does a caterpillar eat when it emerges from an egg?
We read
Ask me to explain the pattern....
Trying to crawl like a caterpillar
Ask me to tell you how many body parts does a butterfly have..
point to the proboscis and tell me to explain it...
Can you find the butterflies...
ask me why is it difficult to see the butterflies.... because they are camouflaged
To day we finished printing letter K and we read the book
Finishing our Sunflowers...
Ask me to tell you how we used our finger and thumb to pinch the yarn..
Elliana said, " This is like sewing."
Practicing our fine motor skills...
Comparing and contrasting the attributes of a penguin, a kangaroo and a koala
We started to write about the similarities and differences of these animals
Ask me to tell you a few.....
Thanks,
Mrs. Malik
