Painted Lady Butterflies
We had a wonderful surprise this morning! A painted lady butterfly emerged! We aren't quite sure when it emerged, but we knew to give it some food right away! Please ask your child: what food did we provide for our butterfly? Why did we give it this food that you see in the butterfly raising Kit?

We read the book,

       Our first butterfly emerged!  Ask me how do I know if this is a butterfly not a moth...

           Ms. Toor, Thank you for making the sugar water and sharing a few slices

                                 orange....           I wonder how our butterfly will eat..

                                                           Ask me.....

                           Look at the empty chrysalis... It's transparent

                     Observe the antennae.. what do I see at the end...
count  the legs....   Ask me to explain why do butterflies have a pattern under their wings...

We finished printing our letter Xx

                                                     Ask me what I drew and labeled....

City of Calgary Survey

-Monday, June 8^th from 12:00-12:45 Brenda from Community Partnerships with the City of Calgary

will be at the school to survey students

She will be asking students the following questions:

-What do you like about your neighbourhood?

-What don’t you like about your neighbourhood?

-What would you like to see in your neighbourhood?

We practiced our reading, rhyming and sounds...

We practiced to log in with our ID's and went on starfall.com

We also reviewed rabbits and their habitats by reading this book

We looked at the photo of the bunny we captured in our camera..

Ask me if it looks like the rabbit in the book...

Ask me why did this bunny change the colour of it's fur?

We presented at the volunteer celebration with our song...

Reminder: No school tomorrow for students due to PD Day! Have a great long weekend!

Today was the volunteer tea. We are so grateful to all those parents and community volunteers that have spent countless hours, moving our learning forward. 

We hope you enjoyed our musical celebration!
